Where these salary figures come from

Most salary sites in Malaysia don’t tell you where their numbers come from. We do the opposite — because in this field, a figure you can’t trace is a figure you shouldn’t trust.

Our sources

What we verify before publishing

Every salary figure is traced to an official document, not to another website. Where two official sources exist — for example JPA’s schedule and the Ministry of Finance budget — we cross-check both. We link to the original document on every page.

What we do NOT publish

If we can’t trace a figure to an official source, we don’t publish it — even if it’s all over other sites. Police and military pay, for instance, sit under separate circulars we couldn’t access directly, so we don’t print those figures until they’re verified. We’d rather leave a gap than fill it with a wrong number.

Basic pay vs gross pay

We try to always separate basic pay (the base figure in the grade table) from gross pay (basic plus fixed allowances — much closer to what actually lands in your account). Many other sites show only basic pay, and that answers the wrong question.

Updates

Pay policy changes. The SSPA Phase 2 rise (7%) took effect on 1 January 2026, and we update pages when the rules change. The last-updated date is shown on every article.
